If you catch a salmon with a tag (as shown in the photograph) near the dorsal fin, then please remove it by cutting through the plastic cord to remove the acoustic tag (black cylinder). Please note that the colour of the cord may vary from yellow.

SACS: Tail Docking Update

The Scottish Parliament this afternoon voted on the draft Prohibited Procedures on Protected Animals (Exemptions) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2017; this proposes to allow the tail docking up to the age of five days of spaniel and HPR puppies that are likely to be used as working dogs, with docking limited to the end-third of the tail.
