An online questionnaire has been launched by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland to allow members of the public who have applied for a grant, renewal or variation of a firearm, shotgun or air weapon certificate or sponsored a Visitor Permit in the last two years to comment on the licensing process.

This questionnaire forms part of an assessment on the efficiency and effectiveness of the licensing system in Scotland. It is a short and simple questionnaire and it is vital that as many responses are received as possible.

Please share widely amongst your shooting pals/acquaintances or tag them in a comment below so that they can see this page.

Responses are entirely anonymous.

The deadline for responses is Friday, 3 November 2017, so there isn’t a lot of time.

HMICS will publish a report of the inspection in Winter 2017.
