On 18 May 2026, the Home Office published the updated version of its non-statutory guidance on firearms licensing law.

The guide has been updated to reflect several legislative developments and other changes since the previous version was published in November 2022. The main changes are summarised in Chapter 1 for ease of reference.

Please note that the fees set out in Chapter 19 reflect the current fees applicable from February 2025. New fees will come into force on 4 June 2026, and the guide will be updated separately on that date.
