Firearms licensing: recommendations for changes

You will likely know that the Home Office issued a Firearms Licensing consultation in June 2023 in respect to the Keyham tragedy, the subsequent reports by the Coroner and the IOPC in respect of the circumstances and also the views of the Scottish Affairs Committee in their review of firearms licensing in Scotland.

The following letter is being submitted on behalf of SACS members however it is important that your own voice is heard, and as such it is vitally important that individuals respond to the consultation, which takes no more than five minutes to complete.  The letter which is being submitted by SACS will hopefully guide you on the wider view in respect of firearms licensing and from there you can make your informed choice in relation to answering the consultation.

To be absolutely clear, your voice and view is important.  Please respond to the consultation.  It closes on 23 August 2023.  The links to the consultation can be found here.
